ALL STAR DOG RUN RACE RULES

(1)  ALL DOGS MUST BE ON A LEASH AT ALL TIMES

Refusal to comply with this rule will result in disqualification.

Retractable leashes are not recommended and should be set at six feet if used.

(2)  Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella vaccinations must be current on race day.  Proof of current Rabies vaccine should be carried with you on race day and  must be provided at the request of any All Star Dog Run representative.

(3)  Your dog must be currently licensed.

(4)  Dogs must be one year of age, or older, to run.

(5)  Female dogs in heat are requested not to attend and will be removed from the run if present.

(6)  Dog owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dog – even if this must be attended to while on the race
course.  Disposable bags will be readily available.

(7)  The All Star Dog Run veterinarian, race director, or representatives, reserve the right to refuse entry or remove a dog from the course if it might prove hazardous to others or whose physical condition appears to be compromised before or during the event.

(8)  For safety reasons, baby joggers & bicycles are not allowed to run with the dogs

(9)  All Star Dog Run reserves the right to cancel the race and make it a "fun run" if weather conditions would  be a health hazard for running dogs.  Participants will not be timed and there will be no place awards.  All entrants will receive schwag bags and race promos.

(10) Aggressive and unruly dogs -or people- will be disqualified.

(11) There are no registration refunds.  If a race entrant has medical documents (from their licensed physician or their dog's veterinarian) that prevent participation within 1 week of the race date, then a 50% credit may be issued by the race director for another All Star Dog Run race.

(12) For insurance and liability coverage, race numbers that are worn by entrants who are NOT the original registrants will be disqualified.  Please don't trade, swap, or sell your number if you cannot run the race yourself.

Want to run with both of your dogs?  Double up and the second dog runs for 1/2 price!

Why does it cost so much?
Running a race with dogs and people adds another safety element that requires the services of veterinarians and veterinary assistants in addition to human medical safety precautions.  We want you to have fun and we don't want anyone to get hurt while they're having fun.

And...we think you'll agree that the All Star Dog Run medals, prizes, T-shirts, and doggie bags put the WAG in schWAG!

Can I bring more than one dog?  Yes. But each dog needs its own race number and you must be able to keep them under your control, on leash, while running.

Why can't I run with my puppy?  Most veterinary orthopedic specialists agree that a dog's bones haven't finished growing until they are at least a year of age (large & giant breed dogs may not mature until many months after that) and the concussive force of running repeatedly on hard surfaces is detrimental to their long term health.  If you wait until your dog's growth plates are closed, you can maximize the time your dog will be able to run with you for the rest of his life.

Can I put my dog in a stroller?  Unfortunately, the terrain on the race course isn't a great place for a pet stroller.

What if I can't run on race day?  You are welcome to walk the 5K.  See the race rules above for our cancellation policy.
